I often get asked, “What’s the purpose of using a mortgage adviser?” The simplest answer is that:
“We’re here to assist you through the entire mortgage application process. We are on your team. We help you get the job done and hopefully in the most efficient way possible!”
And here’s some more info about what we do for our customers benefit:
1. We have access to a diverse range of lenders including every main bank in NZ and a number of non-bank options. Not every application is suitable to every lender – we will generally find the best home for it.
2. We provide you with expert advice and market knowledge, helping you gain a better of understanding of what to expect throughout the whole process. There are so many unknowns and things to learn along the way.
3. Our goal is to save you time – one application with me is all that is needed for applications with multiple lenders we may agree to approach.
4. Possible interest cost savings through negotiated pricing, we fight the good fight for you.
5. We give the best chance of getting approved by the bank, with our experience in position applications the right way and workshopping the application with lenders when some of the details get tricky.
6. A reliable and trusted partner who is generally readily available to take phone calls or emails and respond in a timely manner.
7. Most of the time our services are free as we are paid by the banks. There are rare exceptions to this but this would be communicated clearly with you up front.
